CA LA ROSER

Segregation and rehabilitation operation of a single-family home in the old town of El Masnou. It is a typical Maresme townhouse that had been annexed to the neighboring house due to family needs. The proposal recovers the original body, separating it from the neighboring house and updating it according to the needs of the new tenants. In this intervention, the restoration of the original wooden elements (beams and windows) has been prioritized, as well as enhancing the texture of the rest of the materials. The projected distribution integrates the spaces by emptying the ground floor to create two large rooms, the dining-kitchen and the living room, which incorporates the patio, expanding its limits. These two spaces are related through the party wall that maintains the original texture, illuminated with a curtain of light. Furniture creates a filter between the kitchen and the hall to provide privacy. The new staircase is located in the living room, an important element that is integrated into the main space, eliminating one of its partitions. The first floor is dedicated to private rooms, bedrooms and bathroom, while the loft serves as a versatile space for different situations that may arise over time.
