Can Basses

Located in the central Born district of the city of Barcelona.

We refurbrished  this flat, with the constrains of tight  dimensions, generating a single flexible space, with the possibility of being divided into several spaces.

The living area and the resting area is separated by a slidding door, that can be hidden in the wall to create a single living space.

We  remove the finishings to reveal the essence of the construction materials of the time, stone masonry on the walls, a solid brick on the central pillar and a huge central wooden beam, leaving the pillar generates a distributor of the space.

The combination of the old materials with the new finishings gives a modern character to the home while keeping the history of the city alive, as well as the neighborhood itself offers interesting contrasts.
